The artist have tried to create emphasis on the clothes only and not on the male models standing in the photograph. The intricacy of texture, cloth pattern and cloth design is highlighted mainly as opposed to the mainstream portrayal of using human forms to capture the attention of people.
The intricacy of the clothes is further sharpened by blackening the faces of the male models so as to create the close up of the common objects. The scenery although being present there is dimmed a bit so that when the customer sees this advertisement the eye focuses on the clothes and not the things in the foreground and the background.
The problem of alter ego exists in the society whereby youth idolizes the people appearing in the social media. The fashion advertisement is the main cause of promoting alter ego in youth. By this they create and associate a person with the brand itself and the type of clothes they wear. Usually the high-end fashion designers design clothes for the body shape and size of the model who are usually termed as ‘size zero’ which is often out of the normal body size of the people who are to wear these clothes, but just for the sake of creating an image of slender body shapes fitting beautiful clothes these fashion photographers promote this in youth subcultures.
Alter ego is associated with cause behavioural changes in the youth. Many young women and men idolize the models in the fashion advertisements. The unhealthy body sizes are to be craved for and this is a huge cause of anorexia amongst young people, whereby they stop eating nutritional and balanced food just to achieve the body size and shape of their idols(Rall, n.d.). However the society associates hoodies with criminals. If a youngster wears hooded clothing he or she is considered as someone who has the tendency to get involved in wrong actions. People also believe that these youngsters have certain social disorders. Others have the belief that hooded clothing is used to blend in the society. There is diversity in the population so there are also stereotypes. So, people are uncomfortable or feel rejected. This is why they hide their faces to get accepted and feel comfortable (Twigg, 2013).
