Hall cultural factors
Halls culture factors will be used as the main theoretical framework for this discussion. Harrison cultures were also linked with this discussion but they were not appropriate. The main reasons for rejecting Harrison culture was the idea that this model was divided on four types of cultures. All these four types are linked with role culture, task culture, power culture and person culture. Zara has a dynamic culture because they have to cope with the new changes and their unique supply chain activities (Min, 2016). On the other hand this model was an attraction to use because Zara has person culture where they have assigned duties on the basis of talent and skill of the employees. They take care of the needs of their employees and know how to retain them. Average age of employee at Zara is 26 and age is an indicator for making and designing the culture at Zara. Hall culture forces or factors on the other hand were a more appropriate choice because it discussed high and low context cultures. Hall frame work provides more in depth analysis of the culture that is why it is being selected. As this discussion is based on culture and how supply chain activities of Zara have designed a unique culture, this model will help in analyzing the situation more clearly (Long, 2003). The main differentiation between these two theories is: Hall frame work for cultural factors is a broad theory that covers various elements for expressing the culture. Harrison cultures are divided into four types and further division is not present. Hall frame work is suitable for this study because it discusses high and low context. These contexts will help in explaining the supply chain activities at Zara and its link with Hall frame work.
Hall frame work
Mangan, et al. 2008 commented that in Hall frame work high and low context cultures are present along with the time. In high context cultures communication styles, relationships, time frames and locus of control are discussed.
