Strong leadership is a blessing for an ailing organization. In the leadership of Steve Jobs, Apple became a legendary organization that changed the future of this world through innovation. Good leaders inspire individuals who strive to be like these leaders and also become committed to the organization. The board of directors for Airstar needs to select such leadership from the existing employees in order to steer the company in the right direction. When employees are motivated and satisfied with what they are doing, it translates into better organizational performance and better financial position of the company. Only when the employees are satisfied can there be customer satisfaction. Internal policies of the organization are reflected in the products and services that it provides to its customers. If quality is of prime importance to the organization, then it will provide par excellence products and services to customers. Airstar needs to establish organizational unity so that all employees, management and the leaders are on the same page. When this happens, then the organizational change will be more effectively implemented. It is very essential to keep calm in a chaotic situation like this. If the leaders panic then they cannot provide moral support to employees. Devising effective strategies is only possible when the management is confident about the change and if this is so the employees will be confident too and there will be less resistance to change!
