The book has a range of stories from varied cultures and genres. Comparing this edition to the previous edition, it has got 16 fresh tales and new groupings of tales (Hallett and Karasek, 2008). The archetype is ideally fantasy and creative that will bring the interests of the readers. Be it Cindrella or the enchanted bride, the main character displays innocence and faith which has led to happy endings. It is a common stereotyping in all the tales, which is the realistic nature of a woman in the society. Along with the main female character, there is a supportive character that gives care and believes in magic that will relieve the evils against the female. In addition, there are archetypal villains and a damsel in distress.
