Prospero got defocused from his responsibilities because of gaining knowledge from his books. He was so desperate to be perfect in his learning that he completely forgot that he is a king. That was the time when his brother Antonio took advantage of his negligence. Antonio along with Alonso (king of Naples) and his brother Sebastian dethroned Prospero and took the charge of Milan.
