The plan highlights the list of deliverables and mode of delivery. Project manager plays a role throughout the project. At various stages in conducting the study on child obesity prevention education, it is essential to arrange meeting, plan further and identify if things are on track. These are the milestones (Paul, 2005). The minutes of meeting will be the deliverable and one executive from project team will take care of the delivery. However, the deadline of every task needs additional attention. The reason is that the study has to happen without any breaks in the middle.
The steering committee is responsible to utilize relevant technologies to intimate all the associated members about the timelines and responsibilities. Gantt chart might be of help. As the project scope is large, the team volume is large. To cope with this population, all the major members will gain access to the important documents such as requirements, scope, plan, timeline and action plan. The project risks are shared via a common document. This is of higher priority and requires immediate attention of all. The best way is to use project management tools to stay connected and update the proposal as per the updates. This communication plan has to be updated weekly so things fall on track and do not deviate from the actual objectives. Specific resources shall be given the access to update the communication worksheet.
The project manager has already identified the objectives of the project. The point is to study the closure methodology to ensure that the proposed objective is fulfilled. To handle this phase effectively, three steps are followed.
- Assessing if the exit criteria of deliverables are fulfilled (Lock, 2007)
- Transferring the deliverables to support functions
- Updating the project information report with learning outcomes and recommendations
Comparison of achieved results with proposed results is the main aim of this phase. To handle this project, few contracts are signed with stakeholders such as local health clinic, physicians and community health centres about their strategies, ideas and recommendations. Hence, these contracts will be formally closed. The deliverables are transferred to the intended party. This phase follows implementation phase. Project manager sits with the stakeholders for a final review meeting to officially close the project and release the resources used to accomplish the project.
The entire process happens in a structured way. As this is an educational project, extra care is paid towards the deliverables and security is ensured so it reaches the concerned authority.
