Suzy replies, “They have damaged my glasses and I found that glass discrimination is the new form of racism. This is a cultural threat, Catherine. I am so scared to enter the outside world after this event.” Both of them ended in a situation of silence.
Andrew entered with an angry mood and they did not wanted to reveal the issue as they feared that it would cause other issues. A series of questions went in the minds of Suzy and Catherine. Finally, Catherine tried to initiate the conversation.
“Stop!” said Andrew.
“Social consciousness is important (Jerome, 2011). At the same time, you should fight when people tend to become biased in wearing glasses. You are wearing glasses because you wanted a clear vision. If you have a poor eyesight, you should rectify with glasses”, said Andrew to Suzy.
Suzy was astonished on this response. Catherine was overwhelmed with the support shared by him. “Tell them they would need a new prescription if they discriminate someone for wearing hijabs or glasses…..” said Andrew to both of them as both were wearing glasses. It was really touching for both of them.
