In order to understand the concept of research, the topic, and ‘Societal perceptions of same sex marriages’ has been chosen here. The three research questions for this topic are:
• What do people think of same sex marriages?
• What is the impact of societal perceptions on same sex couples?
• What are the future prospects of same sex marriages from a societal point of view?
For the first question, the key variables are the general public and their views on same sex marriages. This question aims to shed light on the scenario related to how people see same sex marriages, what percentage of people have accepted it, and what percentage are against it. This question needs qualitative research in order find the information. For the second question, the key variables are the perceptions of the public and the influences on same sex couples. This question needs to implement interviews in order to find the answer. Thus, this one needs quantitative research. The third question involves the public as well as the same sex couples as variables. The changing patterns of perceptions related to this topic need to be analyzed through interviews. Thus, quantitative research is needed.
