Contribution of Japanese culture to the western fashion world

Fashion is created as the emblem of interconnecting groups, organizations, people and events. They all are responsible to produce social observable fact grouped under “Fashion”. The domination of French fashion in the industry emerged in the mid of nineteenth century. This study will help to understand that how system of fashion works to justify designers as artists and their designs and creations are considered as fashion. Its pragmatic base is to understand and analyze the entry of the Japanese designers in the fashion industry of French. The designers from Japan and their deigns have contributed in bringing out the Japanese culture to the western world. The Japanese designers came when Haute Couture was being unable to find regular clients for their designs.

These Japanese designers have credited towards their culture to the French Fashion. The contribution of these designers to the fashion industry has proved that the French Fashion industry endures changes and adaptations from other cultures. The inspirational works of Miyake, Yamamoto and Kawakubo in the global fashion arena have gained worldwide respect and admiration and many designers have been influenced with their work. It also draws their most important contributions and the subsequent impact that their work has had upon the next generation of fashion and textile designers around the world during 1980s and 1990s. “Miyake, Kawakubo and Yamamoto have all contributed to the rise of Japanese fashion by communicating its aesthetic to the global market” (Da Cruz, 2004).
