In Chronicles Macbeth was depicted as rebellion king that crushes the Mackdonwald. This situation is presented in chronicles like: people are killed brutally and Macbeth enters in the castle by crushing faces of people by cutting their faces of. This scene is different in the play of Macbeth and he kills Mackdonwald like the hero in the play and these dialogues are performed in the play:
“Captain: … For brave Macbeth – well he
deserves that name – Disdaining Fortune, with his
brandish’d steel,
Which smok’d with bloody execution,
Like Valor’s minion carv’d out his passage
Till he faced the slave;
Which nev’r shook hands, nor bade farewell to him,
Till he unseam’d him from the nave to th’ chops,
And fix’d his head upon our battlements” (Shakespeare, 17).
In reality and according to the play of Chronicles Macbeth was a cruel king who committed many crimes just to protect his crown but Shakespeare molded his story with history not getting in the way of his drama. He changed many aspects of his story to make it more interesting and dramatic. He depicts Macbeth sensible and brave. He is guilty of all his sins and murders and he feels that he can never live peacefully because of all his crimes. He finds himself as a rebellion because he has committed many crimes and his rebelled against the GOD he thinks he should be punished with death. The plot of the play is simple and straight and humor is not present in the play just to give it more intense and dramatic look. Characters of the play were taken from the real life of that time along with the history of Scotland. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are the main characters of this play and are an attraction for the viewers (Tomlinson and Strickland 71). The lady is having lust for power and she sends Macbeth for killing Duncan and Macbeth quotes these lines:
“I am in blood/ Stepped in so far that, should I wade no more, / Returning were as tedious as go o’er. thank you I really appreciate it. I need it real fast to. Thank you again” (Shakespeare, 11).
