The travels and tourism industry has no fixed way of working as the process changes with different locales and the areas that the company operates in (Ateljevic and Hall, 2009). However, the following characteristics remain the same.
a) City office: This is the point of contact with the customer where the customer will contact the company for offers.
b) Logistics and Transport: A good company will have tie-ups and arrangements for safe transport of both the customers and their luggage.
c) Resorts: these are the most important part of the journey as they must be centrally located with respected to the various tourist spots as well as be extremely pleasing and comfortable.
d) Local transport: The tourist spots in the locality have to be easily and efficiently reached to save time and better viewing.
All things considered it is to be noted that a travel and tourism and hospitality although being a very marketable and lucrative business proposition has a lot of specialized areas that need to be taken care of in a sensitive way. Another aspect that needs to be mentioned is the large investment involved and if the business is to be international lots of international relations procedures is to be looked after. This calls for a more than a large amount of legwork to be done in the onset.
