Rome is considered the civilisation which began with Aeneas who is considered to be the Trojan prince. According to the Aeneid, Augustus was claimed to be the successor of Julius Caesar and Venus. The survivors of the fallen city of Troy, who travelled around the Mediterranean Sea is considered to have created a kingdom after the war with Turnus. Prior to the arrival of Aeneas and his marriage to Lavinia, the land was ruled by Turnus (Cornell, pp. 1-32). After the Trojans won the war they started creating a city with the local people around. The younger son of Aeneas, Ascanius also known as Julius is considered to have founded the city of Alba Longa where a monarchy was established. These Latin ruled the city mainly with the tribal and had a social hierarchy that dominated the early governance system of Roman civilization.
