Importance of Social Media in Business and Marketing
The articles included in this paper for critical analysis, are mainly focused on providing the impact of social media on various aspects of life. Social media has become an important tool in the contemporary world that is used by entrepreneurs to grow and increase their business. Thus, social media is used as an important marketing tool and the significant tool for the college goers. The sources included in this paper for critical analysis are “Using social media to increase advertising and improve marketing” by Hensel & Deis (2010), “Viral advertising in social media: Participation in Facebook groups and responses among college-aged users” by Chu (2011) and “How to get on in (social media) advertising” by Direction (2002).
Hensel & Deis(2010) have focused on discussing that social media has been an important tool for the people in global business environment. The sellers and business people are using Internet and social media for reaching to their consumers and encourage more work of mouth publicity for the products and services. The study also provides the comprehensive review of the literature for explaining the importance of social network. However, the study of Chu (2011) is different in its focus. This mainly focuses on the use of social media among the youth and college goers. Chu (2011) has examined the significance and place of Facebook in the youth and how they are influenced by it. Direction (2002) explores the potential use of social media in advertising and how social media creates value for international businesses.
