It is evident that the professor has to demonstrate the disciplinary approach through his teaching processes. However, the evaluation of the professor happens by the method of communication handled to convey to the students. This communication will include the technical understanding, problem solving capabilities, methodology adopted to deliver the content to the students, application of concepts to deliver it in a better way and eventually the humanistic approach. A professor is totally competent only when the application happens with the right humanistic attitude.
It matters much when there is a better interaction and understanding between the two ends – professor and the students. That is how a professor proves his/ her ability in a specific domain. The psychological connection is the root for the togetherness between the ends.
This fully functioning competency model primarily focuses on the attitudes and values created to the target environment through one’s own ability. The elements as mentioned in Ulrich competency model are also taken into consideration. The change champion is what is mentioned as psycho pedagogical ability and the capacity building process happens automatically when the strategies are right and the disciplinary competencies are put together in the right format. On the whole, it is the context as well as the business that are regarded to build this model and apply it for the aforementioned job.
