(Plato): As a philosopher I believe that an individual needs to be taught to become a complete human being and not just to meet and end. The individual needs to be taught to be able to survive in every stage of his life from birth to death and this can be done by teaching them the knowledge which is beyond the senses and other perceptible teaching things. There are three sources of knowledge that an individual can learn things from, and they are the senses like touch, feel, smell, colours, etc. which teaches senses based knowledge, a particular opinion about an object, and the last is the gain of knowledge through mind or wisdom. The knowledge through senses is simple and it is not considered as real knowledge and it has its limitations, the knowledge through opinions may not be perfect because everyone has a different perception about the same object. However, the knowledge through wisdom which is the highest degree of knowledge is the best knowledge and includes the teachings like virtues, good conduct, truthfulness and this kind of knowledge is based on an individual’s original thinking.

(Kazepidas): I have an interesting point to make which is that education has no aims as such, because education is not a start to finish project but it is a never ending learning experience which goes on in life. Education is itself an invaluable thing which is the end and is its own reward which is being recognised periodically.
