Constructive Play Based Learning
The article specifies about the importance of learning standards in the early stages. It gives the importance of constructive play in meeting early learning standards. The author gives three principles as to how constructive play meets the early learning standards. The character of exploration present in children when coincides with constructive play, children strengthen their enquiry skills and have a conceptual understanding. Teachers who are intended to guide the children should have knowledge in constructive play and the materials used. They should know the strategies to interact with children. These abilities of teacher help the children to develop concept and skill in all areas. Experiences during professional development along with hands on constructive play open ended materials give deep understanding of how constructive play helps in meeting better early learning standards. These understandings also help educators to use the constructive play and its materials to inculcate learning standards of the children. Social interaction and sharing the ideas and imaginings between educators and children in respective of constructive play gives the children better learning standards.
